Lately we have been able to go to a few USU basketball games and they have been dang good games! Like when we beat stupid BYU!! That was a good game! We went to USU's last football game and Nick's little sister came with us and we saw some awesome hats! Check em out! I couldn't stop laughing hence me taking pictures of random strangers! Then Thanksgiving came and me, my sister Ericka and sis-in-law ran in the Turkey trot and it was so cold..so it made us run faster! We played some football and basketball and we definitely ate..alot! All I need to say is I got Texas Roadhouse rolls for Thanksgiving dinner and I would have been happy if we didn't have anything else..I ate that many anyway. We saw New Moon and it was ok..way better than Twilight but the actors need some work still..Finals are this week for Nick and he is so ready to be done with this semester. On the flip side of those fun things we've been able to enjoy..it has poured with "trials" this last month..Our storage still isn't fixed so our crap is in our house still because we don't want to go swimming for it. We got a nice letter from the IRS saying we owe 2,500.00. We got booted last night for 70.00 We had to replace the brakes on our car..Our computer has died once again..and we're paying to have it fixed again..We have to pay tuition in full + books next week..ouch! I should probably list some things that I am grateful for before I get struck by lightning as I'm complaining about all of these dreadful things..Heres a few to list..not in order by any means. I still have all 10 fingers so that I can type this blog post in a timely manner. We do have a roof over our heads and it keeps us pretty warm. We do have two cars which do run most of the time. We have cell phones in case one doesn't run. We have jobs. We have great families. We have food to eat even if it gets burnt sometimes. We have eachother! I figured if I have to go through this life I might as well have Nick telling me it's going to be okay since I freak out over everything! Here are a few pics of the past few weeks! I sure hope you all are having wonderful holidays and are grateful for what you have too!

Meet My New Love

I have a confession to make. I have fallen in love with someone new...well actually someTHING new! Take a look at this beauty and you will also! I sure wish I could take the credit of refinishing it but I can't..But I reupholstured the cushion on the stool because the other stuff was just nasty and it was free since I already had that fabric on hand from a previous project. Sadly, the vanity was far from being free but Nick was so nice of letting me get it..even if it is a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanakuh, and Happy Birthday to me. I have been searching for one of these babies for quite some time and finally got lucky!!

HaLLoWeeN!!

We have had a few fun things to do since the last time I posted. Here it goes..Katie is still playing volleyball..big tournament starts this week. Katie is working. Nick is working. Nick goes to school. Nick had a test. Nick had another test. Nick is playing 3 on 3 basketball. Katie watched him play ball. Katie tried to "coach" him. Katie/Nick watched the Office of when Jim and Pam got married..favorite episode ever! Katie is working. Storage flooded. No heat for the night..first of many nights that it snowed in Logan. Apartment got attacked by box elder bugs. Went to a BYU football game. Watched somebody's canopy blow away. Got rained on. Threw a football through a hole. Got a free shirt. BYU lost. Nick was sad. Went to a friends house. Nick goes to school. Nick ordered a mail-in bride. Nick picked up mail-in bride. Nick realized mail-in bride was Katie. Asked for a refund. Decided to go to the pumpkin patch. Walked two miles to get there. Stood in line for 2 minutes. Didn't want to be there all night. Crowded in line. Glanced at the pumpkins. Took a few pictures. Made fun of the people who waited in line. Rode a school bus back to our car. Won't do it again. Nick had a birthday. Nick/Katie went to Olive Garden. Nick is 24! Katie didn't wrap any of Nick's presents. Katie/Nick Put bikes and lawn mower away for winter. Katie dressed as a football player at work. Drove to Idaho. Katie dressed as a zombie. Katie scared some innocent children with her face. Nick dressed as Rambo, compliment's of father-in-law's endless supply of camo. Had a spooky party at sisters. Katie is working. Drank lots of homemade rootbeer. Katie colored her hair. Katie cut her hair..(well Ericka did! Thanks again!) Had a birthday party with family. Ate cake. Got full. Said goodbye. Drove back to Logan. Nick goes to school. Katie is working.

The last few weekends have been eventful for me at least.. Nick works so he gets to stay home and miss out on all the fun. Two weekends ago I met Ericka and Mom in Poky and we drove to Idaho Falls to go to our cousin's little family sealing. It was so neat to experience that with them. They just recently adopted a baby and he is so cute! We also went to the DI there and well it was love at first sight for Ericka. She wanted these sweet wing back chairs. Too bad we had no way of getting them home..Enjoy the pictures and weep Er. Oh we also went to Utah State's first home football game and we won! Probably the only win but that's okay! Then this last weekend my madre and I went down south where it's a little warmer and spend time with Jules and fam. It was so good to see them since it has almost been a year! Those kids are all grown up! Oh and while we were driving down there this guy riding a motorcycle passed us and we both looked over at him and paused and said.."is that a dog on the back?" Yep! This guy had this lassie looking dog strapped to the back of his motorcycle and of course the dog had glasses on to protect it's eyes! Classic..so sad I was driving or I would have taken a picture. Next time!
Nick and his friends/co-workers! Sometimes I feel like I'm babysitting with these boys! The happy and now sealed family!!
Uncle Gary, Aunt Barb Darin and Christa and baby Keldon!

Ethan and Cory were so wrapped up in watching these silly toys I brought them..

Jules and Garrett just relaxing.

Jasmine in her new outfit I got her for her birthday!

Last but not least..the marvelous chairs..they were only $15.00 each too! Dang it!

WoW! Life is just racing by and I don't have much to say for this past month. I wish I had these exciting things to post like I'm going to Hawaii...or I just watched my kid take his first steps....or got a new car or lost weight but sorry...none of those have happened to me..and I doubt they will in the near future either! Those are just some examples of other people's lives and they actually have something to blog about. Nick is crazy busy with studying in the nursing program and he spends most of his time at the library. I keep telling him...don't complain to me..you chose this major! I have been playing on an intramural and rec volleyball league and that has been the highlight of my life the past couple weeks but I have been playing with some fun girls and it is so good to play that competitive again. I have managed to start quite a few projects and am slowly getting closer to finishing them. This is the first of the many projects..it's definitely not the best but it wasn't too bad for sewing my first purse! Don't look too close though. Oh and is Fall really officially here already this week!? I love fall..

Fair Weekend

Well if you have ever been to the good ol cassia county fair you know its always a good time. Maple bars are always worth standing in line for..even if it was for 45 minutes! Knowing you'll see half of your high school friends...hearing the announcer at the rodeo say "Well folks all he's gettin tonight is your appreciation, come on burley!" (that's when the bull riders get bucked off before 8 seconds) Anyhow...Nick and I had a great weekend. We went camping with a bunch of "married friends" from high school and it was a good time except for that darn Idaho wind made it really cold! We then went to our friend Cindy's wedding reception at their amazing house and yard! Seriously..7 acres of the greenest grass you'll ever see! It probably has something to do with them owning a huge sod farm. She looked so pretty and happy! We then went to the fair and got to hang out with some friends that we haven't seen in awhile...It was a good last fun weekend before school starts up and now its back to the books..atleast for Nick!

Kyle and Meg sitting by the fire..does he not look like Jim Carey off of Fun with Dick and Jane!?
This is us defrosting the meat for tin foil dinners on the dash of a car..ya we're not redneck at all!Jimmy..enough said.
Cindy the beautiful bride and me!

Ericka and Camden at the fair..boy did he love those maple bars! Gotta teach them young!
Casen had a good time too..only cuz grandma made him smile!

And..of course Travis and Nick trying to be cool with their serious faces.

Someone's Gettin Married!

Last weekend a few of my friends and I met in Salt Lake and had a "bachelorette party" for our friend Cindy Lou! She is getting married this next week so we went to dinner at Olive Garden which was yummy and then went to the movie The Proposal. We then had her open her presents when we got back to the hotel. It was fun to get together again and catch up!

Only one more to go and we'll all be old married people!

FaMiLy ReUnIoN!!!

We recently got back from my family reunion that was in Albion, Idaho! Sounds fairly boring but it was the complete opposite! There was a pool, a hot tub, a big blow up slide and bounce house and lots of space for everyone to run around on. My parents booked this place last year when they first opened up and since then the price has jumped 3 times higher so we most likely won't be going there again but we had such a blast. Today Nick and I had the day off since we live in Utah and Pioneer Day is a state holiday we decided to go to Lava Hot Springs. It was raining on and off most of the day so we decided to just rent tubes and float down the little canal thing they have which was still fun. There are some parts that the rocks stick up quite a bit and if you're not paying attention they'll scratch the crap out of ya! Poor Nick got scraped up pretty good. I almost forgot about the 4th of July..Nick had to work so I went camping with Mom and Dad which was really fun..I love Lake Cleveland! Nick and I also went to the fireworks here in Logan...we are thinking the firework budget was cut quite a bit this year since they only lasted exactly 10 minutes! Lastly..I chopped my hair! Thanks again Ericka!

This is where we stayed...ya it was really nice!

Nick was a little too tall to stand up on the slide so that's why he looks like he is in pain!

The rock that scratched Nick...this is one among the four
Happy 4th of July..Ericka and Casen came for lunch up to Lake Cleveland!

Happy Pioneer Day! We didn't know what else to do after the fireworks ended so abruptly so we took a picture of ourselves!
